Fr. Rosenskjar Resource Centre Interior Fitout

The interior layout facilitates the successful co-existence of administration, staff facilities, multi media rooms & library. The library interior is designed to allow for different modes of use; modes for quiet break out areas, group learning and full class learning. Important design aspects included, implementing naturally defused light to minimize the use of artificial lighting.  The design process also explored the site's natural air flow paths and designed shading devices to enable the spaces to be as thermally comfortable as possible without the use of air conditioning or heating.

Internal material finishes were based on a neutral palate, while featuring particular areas through the use of warm naturally finishes timber and small amounts of bright playful but yet calming colours.  The neutral colours in the walls and ceilings were activated by the directional flow and colour selection of the carpet.

A number of furniture items were purpose built, including a tiered junior reading area and banquette window box, which introduce colour and texture to the fitout.
