The Mt Sion and Duhig Place redevelopment harmonises with existing school fabric and provides new links that enhance connectivity across the college campus.
The project provides the college with a formal and more recognisable entry off Rogers Street. The building brief brings together, in one facility, the College Administration Offices; Student Services; College Ministry; Counselling and the Old Boys Boardroom. In addition, the building includes a major retrofit of the existing pool and additional amenities for the students. The indoor pool has been re-tiled with new filtration, heating and ventilation.
The project builds upon the foundations of an existing building. By reusing the existing structure, , the existing pool and materials, the design team was able to create a more sustainable solution. The front façade to Rogers Street utilises existing stone and locally sourced stone. This helps the building blend harmoniously with the historic fabric of the school.
