The Fr Rosenskjar Resource Centre is a BER project, which involved the design of a new administration department, library, multimedia facilities & general learning areas.  The project seeks to create a stimulating environment for learning/working by implementing a framework that enhances transparency, accessibility and operational cohesion in the education realm.

The site has a significant gradient, sloping approximately 6m between the existing buildings and the outdoor spaces below. Part of the brief involved designing a building which mediated the existing topography while creating a new school address from Tudor Street.

Key to addressing the site challenges was the organisation of the integrated program and planning arrangement. Situated over two levels; the administration department, library and multimedia facility are located on the first level, with the GLA’s and support facilities at ground. The first level anchors into the northern edge of the site, enabling the southern edge to hover amongst the tree canopy as the site drops away.  At ground, a service zone runs along the northern edge between the cut terrain and the GLA’s, which open out onto an amphitheatre below. At grade access is now provided to both ground and first level; providing independent staff and student access points.
