J Block

J Block is the second of three buildings designed by Macksey Rush on the Mansfield SHS campus. Oriented to the north, the building’s central void and amphitheatre space offer views of the school’s main oval and Bulimba Creek. Spread over three levels, J Block comprises 16 General Learning Areas (GLAs), two Flexible Learning Areas, staff offices, amenities, and expansive new student changerooms. The design prioritizes natural light, ventilation, movement, and interaction. The incorporation of folding walls allows for flexible and versatile spaces, accommodating various teaching and learning styles.
